All the work you’re doing in a repetitive manner in Google Sheets or Excel could be automated. And that’s where I can help. I’m the Director of Business Analytics at European fastest growing technology firm Bolt, where I’m standing just in the middle of tech and business people. And as you might know, business people love spreadsheets. Simply because they are so easy to use, you can do so many ad-hoc analyses there, and it’s purely a common-sense tool to use.
But that doesn’t mean that people know how to use it right. People often use clunky formulas and esthetically unappealing formatting practices, which doesn’t make the dashboards and files the most user-friendly to use. Moreover, when something is not visually and technically working as effectively as it could, it slows down every user from focusing on things that matter and that results often in lower quality of work — with absolutely no good reason for that.
Hence, I’m a pure advocate of well-looking and fully automated spreadsheets that require a minimal amount of manual effort and can easily be scaled to hundreds of different files used by thousands of people daily. All this involves a combination of highly complex formulas, effective data visualisation, mathematical thinking and often syncing your spreadsheets with scripts such as Python or Google Apps Script.
And that’s why I have created this course. I’ve worked with spreadsheets for a long time and always have got amazing feedback from all the people who’ve been using dashboards and tools built by me. So one day, I decided that instead of only producing dashboards for other people, I’d rather teach them how to do ones themselves. And that’s why I have created this course. The course is FANTASTIC! First, it is clear that Mariel knows the topic. She is a real professional and it becomes clear as we progress in the course. I have used Excel for 21 years. I am still a heavy user. However I was made aware of the great use of query function within Google Sheets a while ago and started to understand the power of Google Sheets.
